Worth a Shot

Tomorrow (03/26), I’m planning to get the first coronavirus vaccine shot. Unfortunately, it’s not the one-shot vaccine, so I’ll have to get the second one in two weeks. It’s being put on by one of the local pharmacies at the movie theater parking lot located about two blocks from my house. My 16-year-old son wanted to get one also, but this vaccine is only for people over 18.

There are a lot of people who refuse to get this vaccine for whatever reason. So many people try to claim the “Mark of the Beast” mentioned in the Biblical book of Revelations. I’m sure you’re familiar with this, whether or not you believe in God. The scripture says that this “mark of the beast” will make it so that, just prior to Christ’s second coming, people will not be able to buy or sell anything. I don’t get how a shot will achieve this, but whatever. You do you, boo.

Personally, I am simply over the whole coronavirus/mask mandate bullshit, that, if it will help make any of this blow over, then I’ll do my part. Decades ago, there was a similar vaccination effort in the United States, against a deadly thing known as polio. As strange as it may seem, millions got vaccinated, and polio all but disappeared🤦‍♂️😱. That is, until the fucking anti-vaxxers decided vaccines somehow caused autism, and now polio, measles, etc., that were all but eradicated are returning🙄.

Moving on to a different subject. Every time I publish a post, be it here or on my “Rants” blog, up pops a button for “turn this post into a podcast”. One time I clicked on the link, and it took me to anchor.fm. I set up an account for the hell of it. It gives me the option of recording my own voice, or take my written post and convert it to speech, using a male or female voice. The transcription actually turns out decent. It didn’t sound at all robotic, although you could tell it was computer-generated. I contemplate diving into this, but I’m not sure anyone wants to listen to my horrific voice. I might record something offline and send it to selected individuals to be my guinea pigs victims test audience. Give me your opinions. Would you want to hear my posts in audio form, strictly written, or both? This isn’t something that will happen immediately. If I do dive into this, it would take a little time. I do, however, want to hear your feedback, either in a comment here, or over Facebook and Instagram. Let’s see in which direction fate will take us.

Today’s quote is this:

“Vaccines don’t cause autism. Vaccines, instead, prevent disease. Vaccines have wiped out a score of formerly deadly childhood diseases. Vaccine skepticism has helped to bring some of those diseases back from near extinction.”

  1. How many have actually carefully thought through, did the research, realized the research utilized fetal tissue, realize MRNA is new regarding any science on long-term effects, and wondered why a virus with pretty much normal flu-like numbers is being constantly pressured through every means possible, which also seems to be going in the direction of people carrying cards or they’ll be ostracized from society, that every year they’ll have to get another shot to continue carrying those cards, which means more controls. Then, following this line of understanding, seeing that we are becoming a society of blind thinkers, that the stage is set for more controls in many arenas, as we are continuing to show, through pressure, we can be made to do anything. With time, you’ll be “tagged” for any words you’ve ever expressed that defies controls, you’ll have to attest to certain beliefs in order to have a card saying you’re one of them, and so on.

    1. I have often thought that some of what has gone on recently is merely a dry run for something nefarious in the future. For example, the “coin shortage” the US faced last year, where many businesses only allowed card transactions or exact change, could be seen as practice for the eventual elimination of physical currency and implementation of a cashless society
