It’s strange to think that thirteen years ago, everyone was excited because of the triple-numbered “lucky” date, 07/07/07.
What is it about numbers that get people’s attention? Why is 13 considered an unlucky number? So much so that there’s an actual name for the fear of the number 1️⃣3️⃣: triskaidekaphobia. Is it due to the Friday the 13th movies? Why is there usually no 13th floor in a hotel, or rooms ending in the number 13? Why is that the arbitrary unlucky number?
I can see why the triple-six is hated. Even for me there’s a disconcerting feeling about it. In Revelations in the Bible, it talks about the “last days” and the “mark of the beast”, without which people will be unable to buy or sell anything (a lot of speculation abounds about what that mark might be, especially recently), and it says that the Beast’s number is “six hundred threescore and six” (a score=20, so 6️⃣6️⃣6️⃣).
Conversely, why is 7 considered so lucky🤞? Is it because of its prevalence? Seven continents, seven days in a week, seven days in God’s Creation (counting the day of rest), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, seven wonders of the world. Who knows? I’ll never understand certain things, I guess🤷♂️.
